Not one but several: Morphological diversity within the sand termite

چکیده
Termite species are generally identified based on morphological differences of soldiers. This approach is here applied for the sand termite Psammotermes allocerus. By using high quality resolution images, measurements 26 traits head, labrum and mandibles, CART method, as well geometric-morphometric shape analyses mandibles large soldiers (> 7mm in total body lengths) a discrimination between three geographical regions possible. Soldiers collected from Succulent Karoo, Southern Namib Northern differ significantly each other. study first attempt to show strong variation differentiation within allocerus arid regions. Further research additional comparison different development stages needed complete assessment diversity species.

Polymorphisms within Exon 9, But Not Intron 8, of the Vitamin D Receptor Gene Are Associated with Asthma
Objective(s) Deregulation of the immune system through allied factors and cytokine responses are thought to be important contributors to the pathogenesis of asthma. Vitamin D3 and its nuclear receptor appear to be factors that maybe involved in regulating immune responses during the progression of asthma. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between polymorphisms in intron ...
متن کاملNeglect between but not within auditory objects.
Unilateral neglect is frequently characterized by the presence of extinction, which is a lack of awareness to contralesional visual stimuli in the presence of those further towards the ipsilesional side. It has been established that this visual extinction can be reduced if the stimuli are grouped together into a single object. However, attention between and within auditory objects has never bef...
متن کاملLearning the Morphological Diversity
This article proposes a new method for image separation into a linear combination of morphological components. Sparsity in global dictionaries is used to extract the cartoon and oscillating content of the image. Complicated texture patterns are extracted by learning adapted local dictionaries that sparsify patches in the image. These global and local sparsity priors together with the data fidel...
